Def Leppard and Journey concert!

I obtained tickets to see Def Leppard and Journey at Wrigley Field and couldn’t be more excited!  I LOVE 80’s music and knew this was going to be a good show.  What I didn’t expect was the lack of enthusiasm by other people who just weren’t interested in going with me. I asked two people if they would like to come with me and they both laughed and said it wasn’t their thing.  Umm…HELLO??  These rock stars were the prime sound of pop rock music!  How can anyone NOT be interested in seeing them live?  I ended up asking a co-worker if he would come with me and he happily agreed.  Whew!
I did my usual Saturday routine and cleaned up around the apartment.  A friend who stopped by to talk ended up taking me to the restaurant where I was supposed to meet my co-worker.  We ordered some cocktails before heading out to the show.  Unfortunately, we were under the impression that the Pretenders were going to start a bit later, but they didn’t.  They were the opening headliner and we missed a few songs.  But we caught some songs and they sounded great!
Next up was Journey with their new lead singer.  It was surreal listening to them again.  I remembered so many songs they played.  Once Def Leppard got on, the crowd was super pumped.  Journey had the crowd going and watching everyone sing along was electrifying.  I enjoyed my night out at Wrigely!  I have never been to a concert there before…

Chicago 90s Block Party

I jumped into work once I got back from my trip.  Despite seeing my Dad and his family on Saturday, my mom wanted me to come by on Sunday.  I got a chance to give her the souvenirs I picked up for her.  She loved my gifts.
Work came and went but I was already pooped out from not resting much.  I wanted to do laundry but my friend reminded me that she got tickets for us for Chicago 90s block party at Wintrust.  I’ve never been to that venue.
I woke up with a sore throat, but I knew I didn’t want to blow off my friend.  I quickly came home and changed into my Aaliyah t-shirt.  This was the perfect place to wear it!  Lol
I took the blue line down to Jackson and jumped in a cab right away.  Both of us were running late.  I felt bad because I didn’t want to miss any of the show.  Luckily I got there before the line to get inside was long.  It seemed that my friend was running super behind so I went to get a glass of wine at the bar.
My friend bought tickets right smack in the middle on ground level.  I made it to my seat and waited for her to come.  Faith Evans was off the hook!  She looked beautiful.
Up next was SWV.  It was amazing seeing them after so many years.  They were huge when I was in school!  My friend finally showed up and we danced the night away.  112 and Jagged Edge blew us away, and Teddy Riley sang all of his hits afterwards.
They finished the concert with Guy.  The crowd would not stay in their seats.  It was a night of non-stop dancing.  I decided to hang out with my friend at her place and told her the details of my trip.  I needed this girl time.

Hall & Oates!

Since I'm still technically sick (actually I think it's mostly allergies since I'm dealing with my nose now) I've been laying low.  Last week I slowly started my workouts again but I took it easy at the gym.  I'm a fanatic when it comes to my workouts, but this cough was kicking my butt.  Like I mentioned before, it's not easy being sick in the summer!
I wanted to have a relaxing weekend to myself since last weekend was kind of hectic.  But to my surprise, my brother got me Hall & Oates tickets for us as a belated birthday gift.  Unfortunately, the concert was being held in Tinley Park which is almost the same route as heading back to Indiana!  UGH!!  Not again!  I had to make arrangements at work so I could leave before the Friday rush hour traffic hit.
To make matters worse, that day the temperature reached 91 degrees!  I found out at the last minute before heading out that we had lawn tickets too!  I was a little upset, but I figured the concert would start around 7pm.  The sun shouldn't be beating down on us around that time.
We got to Tinley a little after 6pm.  We decided to fill up our gas tank since gas is known to be cheaper out in the burbs.  Parking and making our way in took us a minute, but then we had some time to kill.  I knew I wanted to lay out our blankets soon since I didn't want to be placed too far out from the stage.  We lucked out, but once we settled in, we took turns going back and forth to the washroom and getting drinks.
Finally the show began, and with two opening acts, Hall & Oates made their way to the stage in front of a sold out audience!  Me and my brother had a blast since they're one of our favorite bands from the 80s.  People couldn't help but get up and dance!  I realize now what a wonderful time I had!  I loved my birthday gift...

Good time with the bro!

I'm practicing using my selfie stick for my upcoming trip...

The Hunt for a Calm October...

October brought in some unexpected surprises.  Namely the Pitbull and Enrique Inglesias concert.  I've NEVER bought tickets at the box office on the day of, but my friend insisted that we give it a shot.  Being a pessimistic Gemini, I had my doubts especially since I couldn't find tickets online.  But we ended up at Rosemont praying that we had a chance.  We did, but of course, for floor seats.  I was prepared for the damage, and I'm glad I did.  The seats were amazing!  We couldn't stop dancing throughout the whole show!  I honestly was blown away by both their talents.  Not that I wouldn't have expected anything less.  But the entire show was high energy non-stop.  This was a birthday gift to my friend and I'm happy she enjoyed it...
